More Than Basketball: What a Free Membership Includes

Cornerstone removes barriers so students can develop basketball skills, leadership habits, financial knowledge, faith, and lasting relationships.

A free Cornerstone membership is an invitation to belong. It connects young people and families to a consistent community built around growth—on the court and far beyond it.

A place to practice and improve

Members can participate in scheduled group practices and basketball development activities appropriate to their age and experience. Coaches emphasize fundamentals, decision-making, fitness, teamwork, and confidence—not simply winning the next game.

Schedules and available sessions can vary by grade level, location, season, and gym availability. Registration keeps families connected to the current calendar, email updates, and program announcements.

Leadership is part of the program

Through iLead activities, mentoring, group discussion, and everyday coaching moments, athletes practice communication, accountability, goal-setting, and service.

They learn how to respond to correction, follow through on commitments, work with people who are different from them, and use their influence responsibly.

Free membership means more than access to a gym. It means access to people, guidance, and opportunities to grow.

Practical learning for life

Financial education based on Ramsey principles introduces age-appropriate ideas about earning, saving, giving, budgeting, and wise choices.

Faith and character are woven through the culture of the program. We encourage humility, discipline, respect, gratitude, and purpose—qualities that shape how athletes compete and treat people.

Connection beyond a single practice

Group activities help members build friendships and experience trusted adult support. Families become part of a community of coaches, volunteers, partners, and supporters who want young people to thrive.

Cornerstone serves West Valley families through the Peoria/Glendale and El Mirage/Surprise areas. Opportunities may include practices, skills sessions, occasional practice games, tournaments, and seasonal league play.

What may have a separate cost

Core membership is free. Some optional or third-party activities—such as camps, leagues, games, tournaments, or uniforms—may have fees when expenses cannot be covered by the program. Cornerstone communicates those costs before participation, and scholarship support may be available.

The goal is transparency and access. Families should always ask when they have questions about a specific opportunity.
